Track Presets in Studio One 6

Ever thought about the idea of a preset that already contained all the processing you typically add to your tracks?

Well, this is a reality now in Studio One 6!

Studio One 6 has now added Track Presets for audio tracks, instrument tracks and even hybrids.

This way, you can create your track, assign a preset and all the processing will be added upon creation, ultimately saving you time!

Amazing!

Let’s try it!

  1. Open your Studio One song:

2. Click on Track -> Add Tracks:

The Add Tracks window will show up as:

Let’s suppose you are trying to record and electric guitar with an amp emulation… You would need to create the track, and eventually assign the amp as an insert, right?

Well, now that we have Track Presets, we can do this with a couple clicks!

3. Click on “Load Track Preset”:

Here you can see different sections for Audio, Hybrid and Instrument…

Under the Audio area, we can see there is a preset labeled as “Electric Guitar”.

4. Double click on the “Electric Guitar” preset:

Studio One 6 automatically created a track, labeled it as “Electric Guitar”, and assigned its input and output.

Also, we can go into the Mix view to confirm the processing was also applied!

In fact, we can see Studio One added the Fat Channel, a tuner, the Ampire plugin and even a Delay! All the stuff you would typically do when recording an electric guitar!

And that is how you use the Track Presets in Studio One 6!
