Alternative Panning Modes in Studio One 6

Panning!

A lot of people think you can only pan between left and right. But, realistically, there are other ways to do this, right?

The classic stereo configuration of left and right is not the only option!

Studio One 6 gives you the possibility of switching panning modes to Binaural, Dual and Balance (stereo)

Let’s try it!

 

  1. Open your Studio One 6 song:

Make sure you have an audio track in the Song.

 

2. Switch to the Mix view:

3. Locate the panning controls:

4. Right click on the panning controls:

You will see at the end, the three modes:

  • Balance (stereo)
  • Dual
  • Binarual

5. Click on Dual to switch the mode:

The panning will change to dual mono now:

And that is it! Switching panning modes can be done with a couple clicks in Studio One 6!
