Import Video File in Cubase

Let’s say you are working on a sound for film, doing Sound FX.

Chances are, you will need to import the video file into your Cubase project in order to see the video and listen to its audio while you are recording the Sound FX.

This will help you align your new audio to the existing audio of the video.

How can we do this?

Here we go!

  1. Open your Cubase project:

2. From the top menu bar click on: File -> Import -> Video File:

The import video browser will open as:

3. Select the desired video by clicking it:

4. Press “Open” and the “Import Options” window will open as:

5. From this window, press “OK” and the video will be imported as:

Note how Cubase created a video track with the video, and an audio track with its associated audio.

You can now press play, and the video will play along with the audio as:
