MIDI Duration in Cubase

So you you have recorded your MIDI performance, and you have realized there are a couple notes that you wish you had played for a bit longer.

Do you need to perform the part again?

NO!

You can easily modify the MIDI Duration of your  notesin Cubase with a couple clicks.

How?

Here we go!

 

  1. Open the Cubase Project:

For the purpose of this tutorial we have an instrument track with a MIDI performance already there.

2. Double click on the MIDI event. The Event Editor will open as:

3. Select the desired notes you wish to modify the duration:

The selected notes will turn dark and will show up on the piano roll on the left as:

4. Click at the start of the notes, and drag to the left, to modify the start of the notes:

5. Click at the end of the notes, and drag to the right, to modify the endings of the notes:

6. You can now deselect the notes:
