Standard Fades in Cubase

Let’s say you have recorded your performances in the audio tracks.

You have several audio events here and there.

Perhaps you want all of them to have the same length of fade ins and outs for consistency purposes.

Is there a way to make this possible?

Yes!

They are called Standard Fades.

And here we will show you how to make them possible!

Here we go!

  1. Open your Cubase project:

Standard Fades in Cubase

2. Focus on the first audio event:

Standard Fades in Cubase

3. Perform your manual fades as usual:

Standard Fades in Cubase

Now let’s assume you want these lengths to be your standard lengths for all the fades in the project.

4. Click on the top menu bar: Audio -> Fades -> Open Fade(s) Editor:

Standard Fades in Cubase

The Fade In and Fade Out windows will show as:

Standard Fades in Cubase

Note how each of these windows show you the length of each fade.

5. On each window, click “As Default” and then “Apply”:

Close the windows now.

6. Click on the second audio event to select it:

Standard Fades in Cubase

7. From the top menu bar click on: Audio -> Fades -> Apply Standard Fade In:

Standard Fades in Cubase

The Standard Fade In will be created as:

Standard Fades in Cubase

8. Repeat the same process for the Fade Out:

Note how both events have the exact same length of fade ins and outs now!

9. Repeat the process for the last event:

Standard Fades in Cubase

Now all our audio events have the same fade ins and fade outs because we have used the Standard Fades function.

And that is how you create Standard Fades in Cubase!

We hope you found this tutorial on how to create Standard Fades in Cubase helpful!
