Improved Export Mixdown

Have you ever gotten in a situation in which you are mixing for a client or producer that requires several different formats of the mixdown?

It is pretty common to send WAV, mp3 and perhaps AIFF files to the client or label.

But, how can you do that?

Well, until not long ago, we had to literally export the mixdown several times for each format. So if you had to deliver 3 formats, you had to export it 3 times.

And this is, time consuming!

Not anymore!

With the new improved Export Mixdown, we can easily export the mixdown in several formats, at the same time!

Let’s see how this works.

  1. Open or create a new Studio One Song:

2. From the top menu bar, click on: Song -> Export Mixdown:

The Export Mixdown window will appear as:

From this screen it is easy to see how “most” of the window remained the same.

However, there is a new area labeled “Format” that lets us specify the formats we are trying to export, as well as their associated parameters.

From the picture we can see, different formats are offered such as Wave, AIFF, FLAC, Ogg, CAF, MP3, M4A.

You only need to select the desired format (or formats) by clicking on the check mark to the left of their names.

Once selected, you can configure each of the parameters associated to the format, and then press “OK” to export all of the formats at the same time.

And that is it! You have exported several file types with a single click.
