New Features in Studio One 5 – Plugins and Instruments

Studio One 5 features incredible new plugin and instrument features! These new features make Studio One one of the most powerful mixing and mastering tools.

On this blog, we will present a list with these new features:

1. State Space Modeling drive stage:

Several plugins that have a Drive knob, have been assigned with a State Space Modeling drive stage, for a more natural added analog saturation . This happens in plugins such as Analog Delay, Autofilter, Rotor and Tricomp.

2. Major updated in ProEQ

ProEQ is now called ProEQ2. An additional phase linear low-cut EQ band has been added to it with 3 fixed values and variable slope.  ProEQ2 now features a dedicated input meter. The user can also adjust the peak hold and meter range. The spectrum display now features a 12th octave mode with semitones and a keyboard display.

3. Various plugins improvements:

Several plugins have been optimized for smoother operation and better sound quality. Some of these improvements include:

  • Analog Delay now presents exponential volume curve.
  • Analog Delay, Beat Delay and Chorus plugins have dedicated “Width” and “Ping Pong Mode” controls.

  • “Open” and “Thres” parameters of the Gate plugin have been joint as “Threshold”:

  • Phaser (now called Phaser2) has a new “soft” button that toggles between sine and triangle waveforms. There is also a new “Sweep” button that switches between linear and logarithmic phase sweep.

4. Studio One 5 Artist New Features

The Artist version of Studio One 5 now features VST plugin support, ReWire, and Studio One Remote Support.
