What is new in Studio One 4.5? – (PART 2)

PreSonus has officially released the latest update for their flagship software Studio One, now featuring version 4.5. On this tutorial we will present the new features added to this important update. The list will be divided into two blog entries, this is the second part.

Studio One 4.5 includes almost 70 new functions and improvements that help the traditional engineer, composer and musician as well as the modern non-linear producer. Some of these new features are:

 

5. New approach for GROUPS: Groups can now be named, nested, colored and assigned to a keyboard shortcut in order to enable/disable. Groups also have attributes as Edit Groups or Mix Groups including volumen, pan, solo/mute and can be visibles on a per-channel basis.

6. New exporting features: Studio One is now capable of exporting video with the mixdown embedded, variable rate MP3’s, ALAC, AAC and mono. The user now also has the ability to import/export I/O setups.

7. New Plug-in manager: This new plug-in manager combines all the tools for managing large systems in a single area, making this an easy and fast process. Operations such as duplicating plugins or removing plugins from the list can be achieved with simple clicks.

8. Locking Events: Audio Events and Instrument Parts can now be locked in order to prevent the user from accidentally editing or moving them. Complete lock for track is also possible now.

9. Audio Batch Converter: This extension available separately at the PreSounus website, allows the user to convert formats across multiple files with a single click, but also apply any effect available from Studio One (including third-party plugins). This can all be done via a drag-and-drop operation.
